In addition to the year-round activities available at the World of Energy, we are constantly hosting special community events and celebrations. Whether catering to Boy Scouts, nearby senior citizens, school groups or businesswomen, there’s likely an upcoming event that you'll enjoy!

Trunk-or-Treat and Outdoor Movie Night, Oct. 10

Oconee Nuclear Station will host a free Trunk-or-Treat and Outdoor Movie Night at the World of Energy on Friday, Oct. 10. The trunk-or-treat begins at 6 p.m., and the movie will begin at dark on the World of Energy lawn. Bring your costumes, candy buckets, lawn chairs and blankets! Quilt Show: "Electrified Needles III," Sept. 5-Oct. 1

The Lake and Mountain Quilters Guild's Free Spirit quilting group will present "Electrified Needles III" at the World of Energy Sept. 5-Oct. 1. You don't want to miss this fabulous display of local artwork that includes creative quilting in all shapes and sizes. The quilts will hang in the World of Energy lobby; the event is free and open to the public.

TreesUpstate Free Tree Giveaway, Sept. 26, 4-6 p.m.

In recognition of the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene, TreesUpstate and Duke Energy have partnered to give away trees to support ongoing efforts to revitalize the tree canopy in hardest hit areas. Reserve up to 2 trees online by visiting treesupstate.org/freetrees/. Reservations fill quickly. Trees will also be available first-come, first-serve on Sept. 26. Reserved trees and first-come, first-serve trees will be available at the World of Energy from 4-6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26.

Festival of Trees, Nov. 28-Jan. 2

It's our favorite time of year! The World of Energy is excited to host its 12th Festival of Trees display and voting contest during normal business hours Nov. 28-Jan. 2.  View and vote on beautiful, creative trees decorated by local nonprofit organizations, businesses and civic groups. The public's favorite trees will receive prize money for the decorator's charities of choice. The event is free and open to the public. Bring a canned good and/or personal hygiene item to the Festival of Trees to support local programs supporting those in need.

The World of Energy's regular business hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Wednesday-Friday.
