Morrow Pole Replacements

Working to improve reliability for our customers in Warren County

Reliability is a responsibility that Duke Energy takes very seriously. To help keep that commitment, we’re planning improvements to an existing 138-kilovolt (kV) transmission line to help ensure the reliability of the area’s electric service. Recent inspections have determined the need for Duke Energy to replace several transmission structures throughout Morrow, Ohio near Waynesville Road and Mason Morrow Millgrove Road (Warren County). The construction is needed to help to ensure the safety and integrity of the electric transmission system.

Project Description

The existing wood utility structures will be replaced with steel structures and other modernized equipment that will help support the reliability of your electric service. The modern structures require fewer inspections and is not affected by rot or insect or bird damage. The steel structures will also help to support the reliability of the transmission line.

Vegetation maintenance for this project will get underway in June 2025, followed by construction in September 2025. We expect all construction to be completed by the end of 2025, followed by restoration of areas disturbed by construction. Crews will install access and clear vegetation prior to the construction work as the utility easement area must be clear for safe access during the construction process.
