Looking for a quick evaluation of your home's efficiency? We recommend our free, self-guided online Home Energy Check. For a more thorough analysis of your home and the areas that could benefit from energy efficiency upgrades, select a free in-person or phone-based audit. Whichever option you choose, there is zero cost to you.

  • Start an Online Home Energy Check

    Perform a simple, self-directed energy audit from the comfort of home. The approximate completion time is 5-10 minutes.

  • Get a Home Energy Check by Phone

    A Duke Energy Advisor will walk you through the Home Energy Check over the phone. Approximate completion time is 15-30 minutes.

  • Schedule a Free In-person Audit

    A Duke Energy Advisor will come to your home to perform the free audit. The approximate appointment time is 60-90 minutes.

Simple upgrades help you maximize comfort, reduce your energy usage and save on your bill! Note, Home Energy Improvement program rebates are only valid for single-family homes. For multifamily homes, visit our Multi-Family & Manufactured Home Energy Improvement page to explore eligible rebates.

  • Attic insulation‌

    Get up to $800 off with an instant rebate when you use an approved contractor from our list. Contractor will deduct the rebate amount from your invoice.

  • Duct test and repair‌

    Get up to $200 off with an instant rebate when you use an approved contractor from our list. Contractor will deduct the rebate amount from your invoice.

  • Energy efficient windows‌

    Get up to $400 back on east-, west-, and south-facing windows. You select a contractor and you or your contractor can submit rebate request online once your project is complete.

Note, you must complete a Home Energy Check before you start a home energy improvement rebate. An exception will be made for emergency HVAC equipment installations.
