How to get your rebate
Types of upgrades
Heat pump manufacturers use two rating systems to measure how effectively a unit heats or cools: Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) and Heating Season Performance Factor (HSPF). The higher the SEER and HSPF numbers, the better the unit will perform.
Schedule an appointment with a licensed, insured air conditioning contractor to make any recommended repairs.
Multifamily Properties and Manufactured Homes:
Upgrade heating strips
Duke Energy offers a rebate of $600 toward the replacement of an existing strip heat system. The new heat pump system must meet the following minimum requirements:
- 16.0 SEER & 9.0 HSPF or 15.2 SEER2 & 7.5 HSPF 2
Heat pump manufacturers use two rating systems to measure how effectively a unit heats or cools: Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER)/(SEER2) and Heating Season Performance Factor (HSPF)/(HSPF2). The higher those numbers, the better the unit will perform.
