No. You can choose to participate in the program that meets your needs. Please keep in mind that there are eligibility requirements for each program.

Earn up to $141 in annual bill credits by enrolling your qualifying appliances in EnergyWise Home, a program that rewards you for helping shift energy use during high-demand periods.

Through the Home Energy Improvement program, you can earn up to $3,800 in combined rebates. Here’s how that breaks out:

For single-family homes:

• HVAC: up to $1,000
• Windows: up to $800
• Attic insulation: up to $800
• Duct test and repair: up to $450

For multifamily properties:

• HVAC: up to $600
• Attic insulation: up to $350

For manufactured homes:

• HVAC: up to $600
• Duct test and repair: up to $450

Our programs are available to Duke Energy residential customers only, including renters as well as owners, and each one has different requirements:

The Home Energy Check is available to those who have not received an energy audit within the past two years. Once you have completed your Home Energy Check and received a qualifying recommendation, you are eligible for Home Energy Improvement rebates.

EnergyWise Home requirements:
Participants must have centrally ducted electric heating and cooling, or centrally ducted electric heating and water heating using equipment compatible with EnergyWise program technology. Not all HVAC units are currently compatible with the EnergyWise system.

To earn bill credits, customers must meet minimum energy requirements of 600 kWh per month. Customers with lower energy usage may not qualify.

By 2030, U.S. demand for electricity is expected to grow by approximately 25%. In the past, utilities like Duke Energy would build new power plants to keep up with the rising demand for power.

The cleanest, most efficient power plant is the one we never have to build. If we can help our customers save energy – and save money in the process – it can reduce the demand for new power plants.
