Clean Energy Connection

Solar generation has started.

We are proud to report that our first two renewable solar centers are in service and have begun recording clean energy generation for subscribers. Subscribers will begin to see the Clean Energy Connection Credit and Clean Energy Subscription Fee listed in the Billing Details section on their next bill. This will likely occur in August or September 2022, depending on the date of the billing cycle.

Large business and governmental customers have reached capacity for subscriptions in the program. Please reach out to your Account Executive for any questions. There is still capacity for residential and small-medium business to join the CEC community.

The basics of Clean Energy Connection

Grow Savings Over Time

Over time, the annual benefits of participation are forecasted to exceed the costs.
bill impacts chart Estimate based on 5kw subscription size. Program charges and credits are established per the Florida PSC approved tariff and solar center output, which varies.

Income-qualified customers

Income-qualified participants* will pay a fixed monthly-kW subscription fee for the life of the program and can expect to receive immediate savings, as the fixed credit rate will start and stay higher than the subscription fee. We will work with local governments, employers and community organizations to help drive awareness of the program.

*Customers with proof of participation in a government assistance program or previous participation in Duke Energy's Neighborhood Energy Saver program.

Renewable Energy Centers

These sites are approximately 400-500 acres in size and are located in the following counties: Alachua, Bay, Citrus, Hardee, Levy and Suwannee. The first two plants will be in Citrus and Hardee counties and will begin operation in 2022, with the others following in 2023. We also plan to add four more sites by 2024.
