Program Description

Duke Energy Business Services LLC, the service company subsidiary of Duke Energy Corporation (Duke Energy Corporation and its subsidiaries referred to herein, individually and collectively, as "Duke Energy", "we", "us" or "our"), maintains Duke Energy's website. We allow customers to register their phone to receive account alerts and notifications via text when there is a problem within their service area or with their specific account covering outage, billing and other aspects of service.

You have subscribed and expressly consented to receive SMS alerts and notifications on your mobile telecommunications device from Duke Energy for purposes of providing you notices and/or alerts regarding your account. You acknowledge, understand and agree that Duke Energy shall not be held liable for any delays in the receipt of our text message to you, as its delivery is subject to effective transmission from your mobile service provider.

Supported Carriers

Content may not be available on all carriers. Participating carriers include Alltel, Appalachian Wireless, AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Boost Mobile, Cellcom, Cellular South, Centennial Wireless, Cincinnati Bell, GCI, Immix Wireless, Inland Cellular, IV Cellular, Nex-Tech Wireless, Nextel Communications, nTelos, Revol Wireless, Sprint PCS, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, United Wireless, Verizon Wireless, Virgin Mobile and West Central Wireless.

If you have ported a mobile number to a different carrier or the mobile number has been deactivated for any period of time you must re-enroll in outage alerts and/or payment confirmations.

Cost

There are no premium charges for customers using Duke Energy’s text alerts. Standard message and data rates may apply. These would be charged by, and be payable by you to, your mobile service provider.

Message frequency may vary for subscribers of Duke Energy’s Outage Notification text alerts, driven by monthly billing activities and weather-related event notifications.

How to Opt Out

To opt out of Duke Energy’s Outage Notifications text alerts program, reply STOP to 57801. An unsubscribe message will be sent to your mobile number confirming the cancellation, but no more messages will be sent after that one.

To opt out of Duke Energy’s Payment Confirmations text alerts program, reply STOP to 57812. An unsubscribe message will be sent to your mobile number confirming the cancellation, but no more messages will be sent after that one.

During major events, text messages may not be available for affected areas. For support or information about Duke Energy’s Outage Notifications text alerts, text HELP to 57801. For support or information about Duke Energy’s Payment Confirmations text alerts, text HELP to 57812. Optionally, you may call your specific state’s Customer Service number shown at duke-energy.com.
