Multi-Family & Manufactured Homes Energy Improvement Rebates
Home Energy Check (HEC)
In order to qualify for any of Duke Energy’s Home Energy Improvement (HEI) rebates (Attic Insulation, Duct Test & Repair, HVAC or Energy-Efficient Windows), you must first complete a free Home Energy Check (HEC). The Home Energy Check must be completed before any work begins or have occurred within the past 24 months.
- The residence must be in Duke Energy’s service area and must be a residentially metered customer of Duke Energy in Florida.
- All upgrade measures must result from recommendations made during a Duke Energy home audit (HEC) completed within the past 24 months. (Exception: Duke Energy may show leniency in emergency cases, applying only to instances where the customer may have installed heat pump/HVAC systems prior to the audit as a result of a non-operating system.)
- All heat pump/HVAC systems and energy-efficient window installations must be permitted by the appropriate local agency.
- A Duke Energy-approved contractor must be used for duct test, duct leakage, duct repair and attic insulation measures.
- All installations must be accessible for verification of RI PROGRAM standards by a representative of Duke Energy in Florida.
