High Energy Usage Assistance

Here to help you lower energy bills.

You may qualify for free assistance.

You could be eligible for free energy improvements that can help lower your energy use – and your monthly energy bill. Upgrades can include heating and cooling systems, insulation, air sealing, appliances and more.

Are You Eligible?

  • Do you rent or own a home in Forsyth, Guilford or Mecklenburg County?

  • Do you use at least 17,800 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually? This information can be found on your Duke Energy bill or app.

  • Do you meet certain household income level requirements or are you currently enrolled in a federal government assistance program?

We can help determine your eligibility when you apply.

How It Works

  • Apply online to determine if you meet the address, energy use and income qualification requirements.

  • If you’re eligible, we’ll make an appointment for a Duke Energy-approved contractor to come to your house and start the process.

  • Once you receive a list of recommended energy upgrades, the contractor will make the improvements for free.
