Frequently Asked Questions

  • You qualify if you:
    • Are a Duke Energy Progress customer
    • Own your single-family home and have lived there for at least four months
    • Have an electric water heater, electric heat or central air
  • Mobile homes don't qualify. Due to specific building specifications, little improvement is possible.

  • Rental properties don't qualify. We prefer to work directly with homeowners to avoid seeking approval from property owners who may not be interested in having the recommended energy-efficient items installed. Also, many customers live in rental properties on a temporary basis, making it difficult to obtain personalized electric usage and validate the cost savings on a personalized energy report.

  • By 2030, U.S. demand for electricity is expected to grow by approximately 25%. In the past, utilities like Duke Energy Progress would build new power plants to keep up with the rising demand for power.

The cleanest, most efficient power plant is the one we never have to build. If we can help our customers save energy – and save money in the process – it can reduce the demand for new power plants.
