HVAC-Related Improvements

Incentives are available for the qualifying measures and equipment listed below.

Demand Control Ventilation (DCV)

Demand Control Ventilation helps maintain an appropriate temperature based on the occupancy of the room and can save on heating and cooling costs. DCV can be installed on existing HVAC systems and may qualify for a Duke Energy incentive of .10 cents per square foot (limited to 50% of project cost). For more information, download the Demand Control Ventilation Brochure (PDF).

Duct Check Program

Leaky ductwork can lead to inefficiencies within your HVAC system. If your facility qualifies, Duke Energy’s program will share the cost of testing and repairing (if necessary) your existing duct system. For more information, download the Duct Check Program Brochure(PDF).

High-Efficiency Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV)

An energy recovery ventilation system pre-conditions incoming air, helping to reduce the load on your HVAC system. Duke Energy incentive of .97 cents per square foot (limited to 50% of project cost). For more information, download the Energy Recovery Ventilation Brochure (PDF).

Smart Thermostat

Your HVAC system can be one of the biggest drains on your business’s finances. Install a smart thermostat and save up to 20% annually off your heating and cooling costs. Plus, earn an incentive of $100 per smart thermostat installed (a limited number will apply). For more information, download the Smart Thermostat Program Brochure.

Variable Frequency Drives on Cooling Tower Fans

A variable frequency drive (VFD) helps save money by reducing the power consumption of your cooling tower fan. The VFD reduces the revolution speed of the fan when the cold water temperature dips below a particular setting. Install a variable frequency drive on your cooling tower fan and earn an incentive of $65 per horsepower (limited to 50% of VFD cost). For more information, download the Variable Frequency Drives on Cooling Tower Fans Brochure.

Variable Frequency Drives on HVAC Pumps

A variable frequency drive (VFD) on your HVAC pump helps improve efficiency and save you money by reducing the power consumption of that pump. The installed VFD provides speed control for AC motors leading to a reduction of actual runtime. Install a variable frequency drive on your HVAC pump and earn an incentive of $65 per horsepower (limited to 50% of VFD cost). For more information, download the Variable Frequency Drives on HVAC Pumps Brochure.

Advance Rooftop Controller (ARC)

Advanced rooftop controls (ARC) are retrofit kits that helps help manage rooftop HVAC units more efficiently and reduce energy costs by adding variable frequency drives and controls to constant speed rooftop unit supply fans. Install advanced controls on your rooftop HVAC units and earn an incentive of $150 per ton of AC controlled (limited to 50% of controller costs). For more information, download the Advance Rooftop Controller (ARC) Brochure.
