FREE weatherization upgrades
Enjoy greater comfort, savings, and peace of mind all year long.
Yes, you may qualify for FREE weatherization upgrades!
Those hot spots in certain rooms? The uneven temperatures that make some spaces uncomfortable while others feel just right? Weatherization tackles these issues head-on, creating consistent comfort throughout your home.
At Duke Energy, our weatherization program is designed to help income-qualified customers save energy and reduce expenses through the installation of energy conservation measures.
The program is available to both homeowners and renters (with owner approval) who have a household income that is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or qualify for an income-qualified government assistance program. You must also maintain an active Duke Energy account.
Why weatherization matters in the summer
When temperatures soar, your air conditioning system becomes your home's hardest worker. Without proper weatherization, it's fighting an uphill battle against air leaks, poor insulation, and inefficient systems. A weatherized home helps give your AC a break, translating to up to 30% savings on cooling costs and a longer lifespan for your equipment.
In fact, according to national data from the U.S. Department of Energy, households save an average of $372 or more annually through weatherization improvements.

Ready to weather any season
Weatherization changes may be largely invisible as they are often tucked away in crawl spaces or sealed behind walls. But the impact is unmistakable: the potential for reduced energy bills, improved comfort, a smaller environmental footprint, and greater peace of mind knowing your home is prepared for whatever comes your way.
Eligibility of participation is determined by the weatherization office and an in-home assessment. Get details at duke-energy.com/weatherization. After all, there's no place like home – especially one that's been properly weatherized!
