Support for the Indiana community

Our teammates, your neighbors

Here in Indiana, we’ve been a part of the community for more than 100 years. Our 2,500 local teammates are committed to making the investments that matter most to fellow Hoosiers.

That means investments in the energy grid for better reliability that the whole community can count on.

It also means investing in the community and the local economy. Duke Energy has a team dedicated to working with state and local leaders to attract businesses to the state and help existing ones expand. Through efforts such as site readiness, customized rates, incentives and sustainable energy solutions, the company was part of cooperative efforts in 2022 to attract 4,400 new jobs and $5.7 billion of new capital investment to Indiana.

Indiana Community Investments in 2022:

  • Duke Energy Indiana paid more than $63 million in property, use and utility receipt taxes.
  • We awarded more than $2.6 million in shareholder-funded grants from the Duke Energy Foundation.
  • Duke Energy Indiana employees and retirees contributed nearly $360,000 to charitable organizations and nearly 11,900 hours of volunteer time.
  • We dedicated nearly $647,000 in financial assistance through our Share the Light Fund® to support customers struggling to pay their electric bills. We also committed $200,000 to increase energy efficiency for low-income households, leading to lower energy costs and providing important health and safety benefits.
