Kentucky 2021 IRP Stakeholder Engagement

Duke Energy Kentucky has established a stakeholder engagement process to inform our 2021 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP). Our hope for the 2021 stakeholder process is that it be an open and transparent conversation. We ask that stakeholders approach the process with the same intention and encourage stakeholders to ask questions and make suggestions as they see fit.

Objectives

Duke Energy Kentucky has three main objectives for this stakeholder engagement process.

  • Listen: Understand concerns and objectives.
  • Inform: Increase stakeholders' understanding of the IRP process, key assumptions and challenges we face.
  • Consider: Provide a forum for productive stakeholder feedback at key points in the IRP process to inform Duke Energy Indiana's decision-making.

Stakeholder Process Overview

Duke Energy Kentucky welcomes stakeholder involvement throughout the IRP development process. At the core of the process are two workshops:

Integrated Resource Plan Overview

Duke Energy Kentucky filed its most recent Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) for the State of Kentucky with the Kentucky Public Service Commission on June 21, 2021. This plan, a 15-year forecast required by the Commission, outlines how we intend to serve our existing and future customers in a reliable and economic manner. Duke Energy Kentucky uses the resource planning process to identify the best options to serve customers' energy and capacity needs in the future.
