DEF Green Bonds

Bonds Issued

Duke Energy Florida, LLC issued its inaugural Green Bonds in November 2019, raising $700 million of debt to (re)finance eligible green expenditures. The solar projects financed by these bonds are producing approximately 640,000 MWh of carbon-free solar energy – reducing approximately 453,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide from our atmosphere and powering approximately 52,000 homes per year.

What are Green Bonds?

The green bonds issued by Duke Energy are used to fund projects that lessen our environmental impact and make our industry more sustainable. For example, the bonds help us invest in more renewable energy, and develop innovative green energy projects, like new battery storage solutions.
