DEC Green Bonds

Bonds Issued

Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC issued its inaugural Green Bonds in November 2018, raising $1 billion of debt to (re)finance eligible green expenditures. The solar projects financed by these bonds and power purchase agreements paid for with proceeds from these bonds are reducing approximately 1,097,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide from our atmosphere and powering approximately 132,000 homes per year.

What are Green Bonds?

The green bonds issued by Duke Energy are used to fund projects that lessen our environmental impact and make our industry more sustainable. For example, the bonds help us invest in more renewable energy, and develop innovative green energy projects, like new battery storage solutions.
