More Information

Duke Energy offers two products under the NC GreenPower Program:

NC GreenPower
Allows customers to make a monthly contribution toward one or more blocks (100 kilowatt-hours per block) of energy for $4 per block. The amount will be added to your monthly electric bill. These blocks of energy are produced from wind, solar or biomass sources.

NC Renewable Energy
Offers an alternative for large volume consumers who purchase at least 100 blocks (10,000 kWh) each month at $2.50 per block. The amount is added to the monthly electric bill. This product features energy produced from a wider range of sources.

  • Participation in the NC GreenPower Program is completely voluntary.
  • You must have a North Carolina Duke Energy electric account for monthly contributions to be charged to your bill. If you are a customer of another electric utility in North Carolina and want to participate in the NC GreenPower Program, please contact your local electric company.
  • NC GreenPower Program contributions will be itemized and shown as an additional amount on your monthly bill.
  • Nonpayment of NC GreenPower Program contributions may result in removal from the program.

One-Time Contributions
