High Bill Alerts

These alerts are available to most residential customers with at least 12 months of service who are registered with our Online Services portal.

You will receive an alert if your bill is projected to be 30% and $30 higher than usual. This projection is based upon your historical usage and whether the temperatures are higher or lower than last month. Alerts are sent halfway through your normal billing cycle. Receiving it midcycle allows you time to make energy-saving choices that will help reduce your bill.

You can use the links at the top of this page to explore all the ways we can help you save energy and money. Many of our tips are free behavioral changes that you can make to start saving right away.

The date on the left is the date that your billing cycle began. The end of the bill cycle is noted as “end” on the bar graph because that date is determined by when your meter is read and can vary from month to month.

You can opt out of receiving alerts at any time. Simply click the “Stop receiving High Bill Alerts” link at the bottom of the alert.

This High Bill Alert does not include credits that may be applied to your account, such as payments, adjustments, load control credits, etc.

If you had received High Bill Alerts in the past and have cancelled and would like to resubscribe, simply email duke-hba-resubscribe@tendrilinc.com from the email address that you were originally registered to receive High Bill Alerts with the subject line “Resubscribe”. You will then receive a confirmation email that your request has been received.

There is no need to sign up. As long as your account is eligible (residential customers with at least 12 months of service who are registered with our Online Services portal) and your next bill is predicted to be $30 and 30% higher, you will receive High Bill Alerts.
