  • Yes. Duke Energy works with Speedpay to provide you with the option of using your credit card, debit card or electronic check to make payments. The convenience fee for a residential account is $1.50 and for a business account is $8.50 per payment. For payments in excess of $10,000, the convenience fee will be 2.75% of the amount paid. These fees cover the processing costs associated with handling credit card and electronic debit payments. No part of the convenience fee goes to Duke Energy. Other companies are able to add the processing costs of these requests to the overall pricing of their products and services. Because Duke Energy is a regulated utility, we are unable to do that. Only customers who choose to use this service will be charged the convenience fee.

  • We use your ZIP code for security purposes to help verify your identity and to ensure that the appropriate account is accessed.

The convenience fee for a residential account is $1.50, with a maximum payment amount of $1,000. The convenience fee for a business account is $8.50, with a maximum payment amount of $10,000. For payments in excess of $10,000, the convenience fee will be 2.75% of the amount paid. No part of the convenience fee goes to Duke Energy.

  • Multiple payments may be made toward any one account, however, there is a limit of five total payments toward any one Duke Energy account every 30 days when using Speedpay. Additionally, there is a limit of $1,000 for residential and $10,000 for business per transaction. Please keep these limitations in mind when planning your payments.
