The Duke Energy Foundation is contributing $1.3 million to this unprecedented crisis. Our initial COVID-19 funding is in support of local communities across our seven service territories to provide hunger relief and critical health and human services. Our initial recipient agencies have been identified. As the crisis unfolds, we will evaluate other areas where we can best support our customers, communities and employees.
Creating Powerful Communities means powering the lives of our customers and the vitality of our communities with over $30 million in charitable grants each year.
The Duke Energy Foundation is committed to making strategic investments to build powerful communities where nature and wildlife thrive, students can excel and a talented workforce drives economic prosperity for all.
We focus our investments on these strategic areas where we can make an impact for our communities.
Through these grants, we’re investing in workforce education and training programs that address the most pressing skill gaps and prepare future workers to develop innovative solutions for the energy industry's most pressing challenges.
The Foundation receives grant requests for funding during cycles specific to each investment priority. We review funding requests at the regional level and target investments in programs where we believe the company can have the greatest impact for our communities.
