Cinergy Added to the FTSE4Good Index
Cinergy is the only U.S. utility to be named to the index, an investment tool launched in 2001 for those interested in socially responsible investing. The FTSE Group, jointly owned by the Financial Times and the London Stock Exchange, is primarily involved in the creation and management of indices and associated data that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards in three areas; working toward environmental sustainability, developing positive relationships with stakeholders, and upholding and supporting universal human rights.

Cinergy Again Named One of the Nation’s Top 10 Utilities For Economic Development
For the seventh consecutive year, Site Selection magazine, a national publication serving the economic development industry, has selected Cinergy as one of the Top 10 utilities in economic development. Site Selection’s September 2005 issue recognizes Cinergy for the role it played in helping to generate $954 million in capital investment and more than 5, 231 new jobs in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky last year.

Cinergy Named to DJSI For Third Year
For the third year in a row, Cinergy Corp. has been named to the Dow Jones World Sustainability Indexes (DJSI), an international benchmark for excellence in social, economic and environmental leadership. Cinergy is one of only two utility companies in the United States, and eight in the world, to be named to the indexes. The World Indexes cover the top 10 percent of the 2,500 largest companies in the world, providing asset managers with objective and reliable benchmarks to manage sustainability portfolios.

Cinergy Named to List of “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers” for Ninth Consecutive Year
Working Mother magazine, which has compiled the list for 20 years, bases its company selections on several criteria, including the number of work/life programs offered, the level of employee usage of such programs and the representation of women throughout the company. This year the magazine cited Cinergy’s programs supporting flexible work arrangements following maternity leave, time-off for new parents, and diversity initiatives that identify and develop talented women for advancement within the company.

Cinergy Named a Top Employer for Workers Aged 50 and Over
Cinergy has been named by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) to its list of the Top 50 employers for workers over 50 years of age. Cinergy is the only company to be chosen in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Employers in the top 50 have exemplary practices and policies for valuing an age-diverse workforce and provide a roadmap for the workplaces of tomorrow. The recognition confirms Cinergy’s emphasis on workplace quality, which is a mainstay of the corporate sustainability philosophy.

Cinergy Receives EPA 2005 Climate Protection Award
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has recognized Cinergy’s leadership on climate change with its annual Climate Protection Award. The award honors the extraordinary accomplishments of individuals and organizations worldwide that have made significant contributions to protecting the environment. Cinergy has pledged to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to five percent below its 2000 baseline GHG emissions for the period 2010-2012.

Cinergy Receives Top Department of Labor Award
The Department of Labor selected Cinergy Corp. for its highest award, the Secretary of Labor’s Opportunity Award. The award recognizes the company’s innovative programs and initiatives to promote equal opportunity for all applicants and employees

Cinergy Receives Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Emergency Assistance Award
The EEI Emergency Assistance Award recognizes member companies that put forth outstanding efforts to assist another company in its response to restore service promptly to the public following a natural disaster. Cinergy provided assistance following the devastation caused by hurricanes Charley, Frances and Jeanne.

Cinergy’s “live well” Program Wins 2005 Health Care Heroes Award
The Cincinnati Business Courier selected Cinergy’s “live well” program for its 2005 Health Care Heroes Award in the Employer category. More than 70 companies were nominated in five categories. The “live well” program was started in 2002 and provides employees with information, resources and customized programs to help them maintain and improve their health and well-being. Monthly newsletters, quarterly health topics and personal health assessments are just a few of the resources available to employees.

Cinergy Call Center receives J.D. Power and Associates certification for providing “An Outstanding Customer Service Experience."
Cinergy is the first energy company in the nation to have its call center certified by J.D. Power and Associates for providing excellence in call center customer satisfaction. The certificate was awarded based on results from measures such as values, management, competence, processes and perfomance, along with high ratings received from surveyed customers. The certification places Cinergy’s call center among an elite group that J.D. Power and Associates has evaluated.

Cinergy Receives the 2004 Platts Global Energy Award for “Power Company of the Year"
The Platts Global Energy Awards recognize the energy industry’s “Best of the Best” and showcase extraordinary accomplishments from energy business worldwide. According to Platts, a McGraw-Hill publisher of energy industry publications, finalists and winners illustrate a true innovative spirit and enduring commitment to employees, customers, shareholders, and the industry as a whole. Cinergy was one of 15 companies honored this year, the sixth year for the event. Nearly 200 nominations were submitted from energy companies around the world. Judging was conducted by Platts and a panel of energy industry experts.

Cinergy’s 2003 Annual Report Again Selected As Best in Industry
The National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC) 2004 Nicholson Awards program chose Cinergy’s 2003 annual report, “Choosing Our Future,” as the Best in Industry for the second consecutive year. The prestigious award program was established in 1978, to honor companies that serve their shareholders by producing high-quality, informative annual reports. Judges consist of a panel of individual investors who review and evaluate the annual report for content, financial reporting and design.

Cinergy’s 2003 Annual Report Wins Gold in World’s Largest International Annual Reports Competition
Cinergy’s 2003 annual report, “Choosing Our Future,” received the Gold ARC Award for overall annual report and for cover photo and design among electric companies. The International ARC Awards, celebrating its eighteenth year, is the largest international competition honoring excellence in annual reports.

Cinergy Named to List of “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers” for Eighth Consecutive Year
Working Mother magazine, which has compiled the list for 19 years, bases its company selections on several criteria, including the number of work/life programs offered, the level of employee usage of such programs and the representation of women throughout the company. This year the magazine cited Cinergy’s programs supporting flexible work arrangements, child care resources, time-off for new parents and diversity initiatives.

Cinergy Scores Highest Overall Ranking Among The Nation’s Top 10 Utilities For Economic Development
Site Selection magazine has named Cinergy the top utility in the nation in its annual competition on economic development performance. The award is based on four categories—capital investment, job creation, capital investment per capita, and jobs per 10,000 population—and gauges the ability of energy companies to complement power delivery with the powers of persuasion and innovation in fostering corporate investment in their communities. Cinergy has won an award in each of the six years the competition has been in existence.

Cinergy’s 2002 Annual Report wins Best in Industry
The National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC) 2003 Nicholson Awards program chose Cinergy’s 2002 annual report, “The Faces of Leadership,” as the Best in Industry of electric utilities (east). The program was established in 1978, to honor companies that serve their shareholders by producing high-quality, informative annual reports. Judges consist of a panel of individual investors who review and evaluate the annual report for content, financial reporting and design.

Cinergy Receives Silver Award in Corporate Governance
Cinergy was named the Silver Award winner by Commodities Now magazine at the EMART Energy conference in Amsterdam. The results were based on nominations received from the industry and the adjudication process of the Awards Panel. Commodities Now is a global publication for the major traded commodity markets and focuses on trading, risk management and related issues.

Cinergy Recognized As #1 Among The Nation’s Top 10 Utilities For Economic Development
Site Selection magazine has named Cinergy the top utility in the nation in its annual competition on economic development performance. The award is based on four categories—capital investment, job creation, capital investment per capita, and jobs per 10,000 population—and tests the ability of energy companies to remain resilient in the face of increasing competition. Cinergy is one of only two utilities to win an award in each of the five years the competition has been in existence.

Cinergy was again named by Working Mother magazine to its 2003 list of America’s 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers. This is the seventh consecutive year Cinergy has appeared on the list.

Spirit of Cincinnati Award
Cinergy was among the recipients of The Greater Cincinnati Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Spirit of Cincinnati awards. Jim Turner, executive vice president, Regulated Businesses, accepted the Partnership Award on behalf of Cinergy. The award is given to recognize significant contributions to the local meetings and tourism industry. The CVB chose to honor Cinergy for its generous financial contribution to the expansion of the Cincinnati Convention Center.

Dale Carnegie Training Leadership Award
Greg Ficke, president of CG&E, accepted the prestigious Dale Carnegie Training Leadership Award on behalf of Cinergy. The international award, established in 1985, is granted to companies that place special emphasis on the development of human resources, innovation, and organizational creativity for the purpose of achieving their business objectives. Dale Carnegie Training recognized Cinergy for its ongoing commitment to the development of a corporate culture that fosters trust-based empowerment at all levels of the organization. “In Cinergy, we recognize a company that not only provides excellent service and quality products to its customers, but one dedicated to its employees’ growth, and which understands the value of its employees,” the organization said.

2002

Ohio Magazine Top 200 Companies in Ohio
Ohio Magazine designated Cinergy one of the Top 200 Companies in Ohio. According to the publication, the award is reserved for the elite organizations that exemplify the growth, productivity, strength and innovation needed to shape Ohio’s economic development.

Cinergy was again named by Working Mother magazine to its 2002 list of America’s 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers. This is the sixth consecutive year Cinergy has appeared on the list.

Ohio Governor’s Award for Excellence in Energy Efficiency
Vestar, Inc., an affiliate of Cinergy Corp., earned for the second consecutive year the Ohio Governor’s Award for Excellence in Energy Efficiency. The Cincinnati-based energy service company was honored for an energy savings program it implemented in 2001 at the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA), an organization that provides quality, affordable housing for residents of Hamilton County, Ohio.

Economic Development
For the fourth consecutive year, Site Selection magazine, a national publication serving the economic development industry, selected Cinergy as one of the nation’s top-10 utilities in economic development. Site Selection’s September 2002 issue recognized Cinergy for the role it played in helping to generate more than $669 million in capital investment and more than 6,700 new jobs in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky in 2001.

Energy Conservation Commendation
Vestar, Inc., an affiliate of Cinergy Corp., received an official commendation from the Senate of Pennsylvania for its energy conservation projects at Meadville Medical Center and Allegheny College, both located north of Pittsburgh. Through its direct work and intervention, Vestar brought about a greater awareness of energy efficiency and energy conservation. “Under Vestar’s guidance, both the Meadville Medical Center and Allegheny College are undergoing infrastructure improvements to reduce overall energy consumption and operating costs while increasing the efficiency of their environments,” the Senate said.

2001

"100 Best Companies for Working Mothers,” 2001
Cinergy was the only company in the energy utilities sector named by Working Mother magazine to its 2001 list of America’s 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers. This is the fifth consecutive year Cinergy has appeared on the list.

Customer Satisfaction
In 2001, Cinergy scored in the top quartile among U.S. utilities for overall customer satisfaction. Our Indiana operating company, PSI Energy, was 11th out of 118 in the U.S. for overall satisfaction, 5th in customer service, and in the top 10 in price, value, billing and payment. Moreover, earlier this year, our call center received national performance recognition by receiving NSDI Teleperformance Company’s 2001 Grand Prix Award.

Load Management
PowerShare™ was awarded the “Demand Response Program Award for 2001” in the category of Investor-Owned Utility, from the Peak Load Management Alliance at its fall conference in Washington, D.C. There were 23 nominations submitted for awards by Cinergy’s peer companies.

Economic Development
Cinergy/PSI was again honored as one of the top 10 utility economic development programs in the U.S. by Site Selection magazine.

Annual Report
2000 Cinergy Corp. Annual Report was named one of “world’s best” by nationally recognized annual report expert evaluator, Sid Cato.

Energy Efficiency
Vestar, Inc. received Ohio Governor’s Award for Energy Efficiency for its successful project at Ohio University.

Call Centers place second for e-mail customer service
Cinergy’s customer call centers placed second among utilities for e-mail customer service in the 2000 Grand Prix Mystery Shopping Evaluation Program, finishing close behind Duke Energy. Cinergy gathered 18.4 points out of a possible 20, ranking second out of the seven companies participating in the public service category.

Best Overall Grassroots Program in the Electric Utility Industry
Edison Electric Institute, a trade association consisting of electric utility companies nationwide, named Cinergy the best overall grassroots program in the electric utility industry.
