What is StrikeStop®?
StrikeStop® is a meter-based surge arrestor that can be installed inside your existing electric meter. It provides protection to your appliances and electronics if they are damaged from a power surge that enters your home through the electric meter. Each StrikeStop® unit comes with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. Ownership of the unit transfers to you once your payment agreement is fulfilled.
What is StrikeStop® Monetary Coverage?
StrikeStop Monetary Coverage provides financial protection for damage to your plug-in electronics and appliances caused by surges that might bypass the meter or the StrikeStop device. Destructive surges can occur over any line in and around your home – and even by an indirect lightning strike. Customers must have a StrikeStop surge protector that’s under manufacturer's warranty to be eligible for StrikeStop Monetary Coverage.
How long does it take to install StrikeStop®?
Our technicians can install your StrikeStop® unit in a matter of minutes. The average time to schedule an installation ranges from days to a few weeks, depending on the season and the location of your electric meter.
What happens if I move?
If you move, you can take your StrikeStop® unit with you for only $70. This charge includes the removal of the unit and its installation at your new home.
What is covered under StrikeStop® Monetary Coverage?
Most common household electronics and appliances that plug in to an outlet are covered under StrikeStop® Monetary Coverage. This includes your computers, TVs, refrigerators and even electronic garage doors! Some limitations exist, such as appliances located outside your home or devices used to support a business.
Each time a claim is filed against a Monetary Coverage plan, the reimbursement is limited to $1,000. The lifetime reimbursement amount is $10,000.
