The Washington Energy Facility is a 620-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined-cycle plant located approximately 70 miles southeast of Columbus in Washington County, Ohio. Commercial operation began in June 2002. Located in the Reliability First region and dispatched into PJM, the Washington facility consists of two natural gas-fired combustion turbines, two heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine, of which Duke Energy owns 100 percent.
