The Lee Energy Facility is a nominal 640-megawatt natural gas-fired, combustion turbine facility located in Lee County, Ill., approximately 90 miles west of Chicago. Commercial operation began in June 2001. Located in the Mid-America Interconnected Network (MAIN) region and dispatched into PJM, the Lee facility consists of eight 80-megawatt natural gas-fired combustion turbines operating in simple-cycle mode. Duke Energy owns 100 percent of the units.
