Smith Energy Complex

The Sherwood H. Smith Jr. Energy Complex, south of Hamlet, N.C., includes two combined-cycle units that generate 1,084 MW. It also houses five combustion turbine units. The site began commercial operation in 2001, with additions in 2002 and 2011.
