Nissan Leaf Electric Drive Tour, Indianapolis, IN
On the second leg of Nissan’s national tour, hundreds came out to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the three day test drive event. Duke Energy, along with Project Plug-IN, were there to answer participants’ questions about our involvement and the Project Plug-IN pilot.

Plug-in 2011 Public Night, Raleigh, NC
With it being the first time this national PEV event was on the East Coast, they matched last year's West Coast attendance of 1,300. Auto manufacturers, charging station vendors and utilities were on hand to discuss this new market with the public. We had a great time answering questions about our involvement with PEVs and our pilot programs.

Touch a Truck, Charlotte, NC
This fun and free family event, hosted by the McGuire Nuclear Station, provided an opportunity for parents and kids to get inside and learn about different vehicles, from fire trucks to an electric police car. Duke Energy brought the family-friendly Chevy Volt, and explained the environmental and savings benefits of charging up.

Emerging Technology Day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis, IN
This free event hosted one of the nation's largest electric vehicle rallies, with over 70 PEVs participating. Duke Energy joined by driving the 1918 Detroit Electric and Tesla Roadster around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway track. People came from all over to not only show off their PEVs, but check out different electric vehicle technologies.

Charlotte Clean and Green, Charlotte NC
There was a great turnout of people eager to learn how to be more green at home. Duke Energy discussed how to not only be more green at home, but also on the road. Of course, the 2010 Tesla Roadster received most of the attention!

Food Lion Auto Show, Charlotte, NC
The auto show was a chance for car enthusiasts to check out some cool plug-in electric vehicles and motorcycles. Duke Energy was on hand with its 1918 Detroit Electric and 2010 Tesla Roadster, and answered questions about everything from PEVs to charging stations.

Nissan Leaf Drive Electric Tour, Concord, NC
The three-day event at Concord Mills gave area residents an opportunity to learn about and test drive the Nissan Leaf. Duke EnergyWe were onsite to talk about our involvement with PEVs and answer customer questions

Nissan Leaf Uptown Drive Event, Charlotte, NC
The Charlotte Center City Partners brought a small fleet of Nissan Leafs for the public to test drive. They also promoted the Uptown network of charging stations, including Duke Energy’s recent installation of chargers in the Mint Street parking deck.

Hundreds of locals turned out over the course of the three-day event to learn more about electric vehicles and to test drive the Nissan Leaf. Duke Energy was on hand to answer our customer’s questions and talk about our work with PEVs.

Duke Energy created some excitement by displaying the Tesla EV Roadster at First Night Charlotte. Children and parents alike were thrilled to see the vehicle and to learn more about it.

WBT Interview, Charlotte, NC
Gregory Efthimiou, a Duke Energy’s spokesman, spoke with WBT about the installation of 11 new EV charging stations in the Mint Street Parking Garage in downtown Charlotte. Duke will be paying for the installation as well as the charging for the public, as they hope to learn how PEV charging will impact the electric grid and interact with customer-sited home energy management systems.
