Project Plug-IN

Duke Energy is part of Indiana’s Project Plug-IN (PPI) initiative. Project Plug-IN is a commercialization project by Energy Systems Network (ESN), which aims to develop, deploy, demonstrate, market and evaluate a range of plug-in electric vehicles powered by an integrated charging infrastructure located at homes, businesses and parking facilities. As part of PPI, Duke Energy is conducting a pilot that offers qualified customers a free Level 2 charging station for their personal or business PEV.

How the pilot works

  • Duke Energy will install a 240-volt, Level 2 charging station at the home or business of eligible customers.*
  • We will also service the charging station for free for the duration of the pilot program.
  • Duke Energy will regularly retrieve data related to vehicle charging and technical performance. We will access this information remotely in order to better understand our customers’ charging habits and how it affects the grid. This, in turn, will help to shape our future product and service offerings.
  • When the pilot ends, participants will be able to keep the charging station at no additional cost.

Our dedicated PEV pilot team will be there to answer any questions you may have along the way. Click here to learn more about the process.
