Natural Gas Main Replacement Program
Accelerated Main Replacement Program (AMRP)
Duke Energy is persistently working to improve Gas service to our customers.
Currently there are more Gas construction crews working on Natural gas lines in many communities throughout our service territory.
This is the result of our Natural Gas Accelerated Main Replacement Program (AMRP), approved by The Public Utility Commission of Ohio (PUCO) in 2001.
The goal of the program is to replace all 12" and smaller cast iron and bare steel Gas mains over the next 15 years.
Nearly 1,200 miles of old pipelines will be replaced throughout our service territory.
Annually the goal is to replace 80 miles per year.
As a result of the Accelerated Main Replacement Program Duke Energy will be able to continue to provide safe, reliable, efficient, and proficient Gas service.
Equally important, the program also enables Duke Energy to keep future operation and maintenance expenses to their lowest reasonable level.
