Siren Tests Oconee

Sirens are tested regularly to ensure they are working correctly. The testing is part of normal maintenance and no public action is necessary.

Sirens are tested on the second Wednesday of each quarter. Siren test dates for 2009 are:

  • January 14
  • April 8
  • July 8
  • October 14

Siren tests normally occur around 11:50 a.m. and last approximately three minutes. Remember, in an emergency, sirens would sound repeatedly.
