New Customers — Start Service
Not a Duke Energy customer and need to establish a new account? This is where you start. Duke Energy Carolinas will assess a nonrefundable $15 connect fee for all newly activated electric accounts. In some cases, a security deposit may be required. If we cannot verify your identity during the application process, we’ll contact you to complete an Identity Verification Form.

Existing Customers — Move Service
Already a Duke Energy customer? If you’re moving from one residence in our service area to another, simply complete this request and we'll do the rest.
Duke Energy Carolinas will assess a nonrefundable $15 connect fee for all newly activated electric accounts. If it is necessary for you to re-establish credit with a security deposit or obtaining an acceptable guarantor, we will contact you by e-mail with additional instructions.
Stop Service
Need to discontinue service? Complete this request to close your account. Please allow at least three business days to process your request to stop existing service.
