What is a Pay Agent?
A Pay Agent is a retailer that accepts Duke Energy payments. Upon receipt of a payment, the cashier enters the billing details into the data terminal and promptly provides a receipt of the transaction. It's that easy. 

Duke Energy has contracted with a vendor, Global Express, to accept these payments.  Global Express has a network of free and fee agents across the Duke Energy system. Free agents do not charge the customer a fee to process a payment.  However, the Fee-based agents do charge a convenience fee.  No part of the fee is payable to Duke Energy.  Payments made at these locations post to the account immediately.

Use the map of NC and SC to find information on all of Duke Energy's Free Pay Agents. Currently, there is no list of the Global Express Fee agents on this web page. This sign or a similar version containing the Duke Energy logo will be displayed at all Global Express Free payment locations.

What is a Non-Authorized Pay Agent?
A  non-authorized Pay Agent (Pay Station) has no integration with Global Express or Duke Energy and is not paid for by Duke Energy.  Non-authorized Pay Agents generally charge the customer a fee for the payment transaction. Customers need to be aware that it may take up to five days for Duke Energy to receive payments from non-authorized Pay Agents.  Duke Energy recommends customers only use the Duke Energy authorized Pay Agents.
