Duke Energy Crews Make Significant Progress Overnight March 4, 2009

Duke Energy crews made significant progress overnight with power restored to more than 95 percent of the 185,000 customers impacted by a winter storm that struck the Carolinas during the weekend.
Efforts today will focus on the final phase of restoration, with crews working to restore power to the remaining scattered outages. All customers should have their power restored by 11 p.m. this evening.
“We very much appreciate the patience our customers have shown over the past few days as our crews have worked around the clock to restore power,” said Brett Carter, president of Duke Energy Carolinas.
