Duke Energy Releases Estimates for Power Restoration March 2, 2009
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -
Duke Energy personnel are making progress in restoring outages caused by last night’s winter storm, with power restored to more than 49,000 customers across the company’s North Carolina and South Carolina service area. At the peak of the storm, approximately 185,000 customers were without power.
Restoration work will continue through Wednesday. Duke Energy officials encourage customers with medical conditions and special needs to make appropriate plans. Below are the most current estimates for power restoration, by county:

In all, more than 4,400 workers are responding to the storm, including approximately 750 personnel from Duke Energy’s Midwest service area and neighboring utilities.
