Spectra Energy to Kickoff Investor ''Road Show'' on Dec. 11; Meeting to be WebcastCHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Kicking off a week-long investor "road show," the chairman of Spectra Energy Corp and top management will host an investor meeting on Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at 7:30 a.m. ET. A live audio Webcast of the kickoff meeting will be available via the Investors section of the Duke Energy Web site at: http://www.duke-energy.com/investors/. The "road show" is intended to provide additional information to investors regarding Spectra Energy’s business and financial plans once the proposed stand-alone company is spun-off entirely to Duke Energy shareholders, targeted for Jan. 2, 2007. On June 28, 2006, Duke Energy announced plans to create two separate publicly traded companies by spinning off Duke Energy’s natural gas businesses into a new company (subsequently named Spectra Energy) to Duke Energy shareholders. Upon the separation, Spectra Energy will operate primarily in three sectors of the natural gas industry: transmission and storage, distribution, and gathering and processing.
