Spectra Energy to Kickoff Investor ''Road Show'' on Dec. 11; Meeting to be Webcast

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Kicking off a week-long investor "road show," the chairman of Spectra Energy Corp and top management will host an investor meeting on Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at 7:30 a.m. ET. A live audio Webcast of the kickoff meeting will be available via the Investors section of the Duke Energy Web site at: http://www.duke-energy.com/investors/.

The "road show" is intended to provide additional information to investors regarding Spectra Energy’s business and financial plans once the proposed stand-alone company is spun-off entirely to Duke Energy shareholders, targeted for Jan. 2, 2007.

Participating in Spectra Energy’s kickoff "road show" meeting will be:

  • Paul M. Anderson, slated to become chairman of the board of Spectra Energy;
  • Fred J. Fowler, who will be Spectra Energy president and chief executive officer (CEO);
  • Martha B. Wyrsch, who will be Spectra Energy Transmission president and CEO; and,
  • Gregory L. Ebel, who will be Spectra Energy’s chief financial officer.

The stock is expected to be traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the listing symbol SE.
