Duke Energy Donates $12,500 to Storm Relief Efforts in Tennessee
CHARLOTTE, N.C. –Duke Energy, through The Duke Energy Foundation, today contributed $12,500 to the American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts associated with the recent tornado damage in Cumberland, Sumner and Warren counties in middle and eastern Tennessee.
“The American Red Cross continues to respond to the destruction that impacted these communities and is incredibly grateful for the contribution from Duke Energy," said Pamela Daigle, chief executive officer of the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the American Red Cross, which is helping facilitate distribution of the funds. “Our neighbors in Tennessee -- communities in which Duke Energy Gas Transmission’s (DEGT) employees and customers live and work -- have endured a tremendous loss associated with these tornadoes,” said Martha Wyrsch, DEGT president. “We hope that our contribution will assist the Red Cross in its important work of helping the people affected rebuild their lives.”
