DUKE ENERGY TO WEBCAST ANNUAL MEETING ON MAY 12

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Duke Energy will webcast its annual shareholders meeting on Thursday, May 12, 2005, at 10 a.m. ET.

The event will take place at O.J. Miller Auditorium at the company’s Energy Center headquarters located at 526 South Church Street in Charlotte, N.C. Duke Energy Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer Paul Anderson and President and Chief Operating Officer Fred Fowler will address shareholders during the meeting.
