STU HEISHMAN JOINS DUKE POWER'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TEAM
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Stuart “Stu” Heishman, P.E., has joined the Duke Power economic development team as a business development manager. He will focus his efforts on plastics manufacturers and the building material manufacturing industries, working to bring more of those industries to North Carolina and South Carolina.
Heishman rounds out the newly created business development team joining Ronny Davis and Clark Gillespy whose efforts focus on the motor vehicle industry and its supply chain and the pharmaceutical manufacturing and medical device manufacturing sectors, respectively. This team is led by Randy Broome, Duke Power’s director of business development.
“We are excited to have Stu join Duke Power’s economic development team as we continue to accelerate our efforts to help our region’s economy grow,” said Tony Almeida, Duke Power vice president for economic development.
Heishman, an 18-year veteran of the engineering consulting industry, was formerly vice president and managing principal at MACTEC Inc. (formerly Law Engineering) with responsibility for the Tampa, Fla., operations. Before that, he managed Law Engineering’s Columbia and Charleston, S.C., operations. He also managed the construction services department in Charlotte. He has extensive business development experience with all sectors of industry and is registered as a professional engineer in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Florida.
Heishman has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Virginia Military Institute.
He and his wife, Christine, have a son and will reside in Charlotte.
