DUKE ENERGY COMPLETES SALE OF INTEREST IN MEXICAN ASSET

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Duke Energy has completed the sale of its 30 percent equity interest in Compana de Nitrogeno de Cantarell, S.A. de C.V., to The BOC Group.  The sale, announced in May, generated proceeds of $59.7 million. Cantarell operates a nitrogen production and delivery facility in the Bay of Campeche, Gulf of Mexico.
