MEDIA ADVISORY: DUKE ENERGY MOSS BLUFF STORAGE FACILITY UPDATEThe methodical work at the site continues. Installation of the new valve assembly began this afternoon. Workers will continue through the night and on Friday welding the valve assembly into place. Local Department of Public Safety and emergency response officials will make the final determination of when it is safe for residents who remain in the evacuation zone to return to their homes. NOTE: B-ROLL AVAILABLE As a safety consideration and to eliminate distraction for workers at the site, Duke Energy this afternoon shot B-roll of the new valve assembly and its movement closer to the connection point on top of cavern #1. A 100-ton crane was utilized in the effort.
