DUKE POWER'S RESTORATION EFFORTS NEARING COMPLETION

  • Duke Power crews are making excellent progress and the company expects to have the majority of storm-related outages in the Triangle and Triad areas of North Carolina restored by midnight tonight.  It is important to note that there may be remaining isolated, scattered outages.
  • Duke Power customers without electricity can call 1-800-POWERON (1-800-769-3766) and select Option # 3 for their individual estimated time of restoration. Spanish-speaking customers should call 1-800-943-6914.
  • Once all electrical service restorations are assigned in the Triangle and Triad areas, Duke Power will begin to release crews to support outage restoration work per Southeastern Electric Exchange agreements.
  • Duke Power crews continue to perform most routine services during this time.

"I would like to thank all Duke Power employees, contract crews and electric workers that have worked around the clock to address this challenge," said Theopolis Holeman, Duke Power executive vice president, power delivery. "Coordination with emergency management organizations and local and state agencies has been outstanding and our customer’s patience is appreciated."
