CHARLOTTE, N.C. – DukeNet Communications, LLC, a subsidiary company of Duke Energy, announces the addition of Richard Deason, vice president of marketing and business development.

In this newly created position, Deason will lead DukeNet’s sales, marketing and channel management efforts. "In the past, DukeNet has relied heavily on its sales partners and agents. We continue to encourage those relationships while at the same time developing a stronger sales support presence as we continue to build the DukeNet brand," said M.H. "Chip" Smith Jr., president of DukeNet.

Deason previously served 17 years at MCIWorldCom in various sales and technical management positions. Prior to joining DukeNet, he spent two years with Edge Connections, an integrated communications provider in Atlanta.
