WILFRED NEAL NAMED PRESIDENT OF DUKE COMMUNICATION SERVICES

CHARLOTTE -- Duke Energy has named Wilfred Neal president of Duke Communication Services (DCS).

DCS is a Duke Energy affiliate that supplies sites to 35 wireless providers across Duke Energy's electric and gas transmission service areas. These sites are located on various Duke Energy and DCS properties including land lease, communications towers, transmission towers and water tanks.

Neal joined Duke Energy in 1978 and has served in numerous leadership roles in accounting and finance areas. Most recently, he was vice president of audit services for Duke Energy. As the chief audit executive, Neal was responsible for managing and directing internal audit services for the company and its subsidiaries.

"Wilfred is joining our team at an important stage in our third year of business," said Jim Hinton, senior vice president of electric transmission, the Duke Energy business unit that oversees DCS. "Recently, Duke Communication Services has achieved 105 third-party leases providing $1.8 million in current annualized revenues. The foundation has been built for growth. I am confident that under Wilfred’s leadership, we will enjoy even greater success."

A native of Sumter, S.C., Neal is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He is a certified public accountant in North Carolina and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also serves on the boards of the Charlotte Repertory Theatre and Junior Achievement.
