CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Duke/Fluor Daniel (D/FD) affiliate has been awarded a five-year contract by Duke Energy North America (DENA) to provide operating plant services for four merchant power generation facilities in California. The power plants, with a combined generating capacity of 3,351 megawatts, are Morro Bay in San Luis Obispo County, Moss Landing in Monterey County, Oakland in Alameda County and South Bay in San Diego County.

The affiliate, DFD California Operations, will be responsible for the facilities’ day-to-day operations, maintenance and outage management. The combined plants, previously owned and operated by Pacific Gas & Electric (Morro Bay, Moss Landing and Oakland) and San Diego Gas & Electric (South Bay), employ about 240. D/FD was previously awarded engineering, procurement and installation contracts for modification projects at the Moss Landing and South Bay plants.

D/FD is the lead engineering, procurement, construction and operations firm employed by DENA. DENA has operating facilities totaling 6,600 megawatts, with 3,400 megawatts under construction and another 13,500 megawatts in advanced development.
