CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Jeff Triplette has been promoted to vice president, insurance, for Duke Energy.

Triplette joined Duke Energy in 1974. Since then, he has progressed through various assignments of increasing responsibility. He was promoted to general manager of the company’s real estate department in 1988; and named vice president of corporate accounts in 1997. He was appointed assistant treasurer of Duke Energy in 1998.

A native of Granite Falls, N.C., Triplette received a bachelor's degree in economics from Wake Forest University. He holds the rank of colonel in the United States Army Reserve. He also served in the North Carolina Army National Guard for more than 26 years and during the Persian Gulf War. He was awarded the Bronze Star.

Triplette serves on the board of advisors for the World Captive and Alternative Risk Financing Forum, the Wake Forest University Alumni Council and is a referee for the National Football League. He has served on the board of trustees of the Right of Way International Education Foundation, the board of advisors for Law Engineering and Environmental Services and the board of directors and Executive Committee of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership.

He and his wife, Laurie, have a son and a daughter.
