TEPPCO NAMES MARK A. BORER AND WILLIAM J. SLAUGHTER TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

HOUSTON – Texas Eastern Products Pipeline Company, LLC (TEPPCO), general partner of TEPPCO Partners, L.P. (NYSE:TPP), today named Mark A. Borer and William J. Slaughter to the board of directors as part of the transfer of the general partner of TEPPCO to Duke Energy Field Services Corporation (DEFS).

TEPPCO also announced that Jim W. Mogg, chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of DEFS, will succeed Fred J. Fowler as vice chairman of the board and chairman of the compensation committee. Fowler will continue to serve on the board.

Borer is senior vice president for the Southern Region of DEFS and is also responsible for DEFS’s natural gas liquids marketing organization. Before joining DEFS he was vice president of natural gas marketing for Union Pacific Fuels, Inc., and worked at Rocky Mountain Energy and Nebraska Public Power District. Borer received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska and holds a master of science degree in mineral economics from Colorado School of Mines.

Slaughter is executive vice president of DEFS. He was advisor to the chief executive officer from 1998 until his appointment to executive vice president in 2000. From 1997 until 1998, Slaughter was vice president of energy services for Duke Energy. From 1994 until 1997, he served as vice president of corporate strategic planning for PanEnergy and president of  PanEnergy International Development Corporation. Slaughter received a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from The University of Texas and a master's degree in business administration in finance and international business from the University of Chicago.
