Duke Energy Recognized As Goodwill Corporate Donor Of The Year

CHARLOTTE – Duke Energy has been named the "1999 Corporate Donor of the Year" by Goodwill Industries.

The award was given in recognition of Duke Energy’s efforts with material donations of office supplies and furnishings to support Goodwill’s retail operations and for the acquisition of a new site for Goodwill’s Attended Donation Center on Carmel Road.

"Businesses are more than organizations based in our communities," said Jim Duffy, Duke Energy xxxx in the corporate recycling department. "We believe that a healthy community is built upon partnerships – businesses, agencies and citizens working together to meet the needs of the communities."

Duffy, along with Ed Williams, xxx of Duke Energy’s asset protection division, received the award for Duke at the Cornerstone Award Luncheon provided by Goodwill Industries.

"We are proud to be a partner in the spirit of citizenship and service," said Duffy.
