MARSHALL NAMED VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS FOR DUKE ENERGY CORPORATION

CHARLOTTE - Beverly Marshall, formerly a Washington representative for Southern California Edison, has been named vice president and general manager of federal government affairs for Duke Energy.

"Beverly’s 20 years of governmental affairs experience and her expertise in developing legislative and regulatory initiatives important to the energy industry will be assets to Duke Energy’s growth strategies in a changing regulatory environment," said Don Hatley, vice president, governmental affairs. "Her knowledge of energy issues and legislative and regulatory processes make her the ideal person to lead our federal government relations efforts."

Prior to joining Southern California Edison, Marshall served as legislative director for Congressman Michael Oxley after serving as a legislative assistant for Congressman Dan Schaefer. She also led her own company providing consulting services to oil and mineral firms.

Marshall earned a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Colorado. She assumes her new responsibilities on June 4 in Washington, D.C.
