TEPPCO ANNOUNCES PLANS TO BUILD NEW PIPELINES

Houston -- TE Products Pipeline Company, Limited Partnership (TEPPCO) today announced plans to construct three new pipelines between the company’s terminal in Mont Belvieu, Texas and Port Arthur, Texas.

The project includes three 12-inch diameter common-carrier pipelines and associated facilities. Each pipeline will be approximately 70 miles in length. Upon completion, the new pipelines will transport ethylene, propylene and natural gasoline. The anticipated completion date is the fourth quarter of 2000.

"These new pipelines signal TEPPCO’s entry into the petrochemical pipeline business, providing a direct link between the petrochemical industry in the Port Arthur and Beaumont areas and the world’s largest underground petrochemical storage and distribution complex at Mont Belvieu," said William L. Thacker, chairman, president and chief executive officer. "TEPPCO remains committed to providing the safest and most efficient transportation of our customers’ products and we look forward to extending this service to the petrochemical plants in the Port Arthur area. The project also provides TEPPCO with an opportunity to increase the utilization of our facilities at Mont Belvieu."

TE Products Pipeline Company, Limited Partnership, one of the two operating partnerships of TEPPCO Partners, L.P., which is a publicly traded master limited partnership, is one of the largest common carrier pipelines of refined petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gases in the United States.
