SUBJECT: Status Reports on Duke Energy’s Operations during the Y2K Transition


Duke Energy, a global energy company headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., will closely monitor its operations as well as world events throughout the Year 2000 transition. Information follows on ways media can obtain information about the status of Duke Energy’s operations during the transition.

24-hour Media Line

Media Center

Duke Energy’s media center will be in O.J. Miller Auditorium in the Energy Center, 526 S. Church St., Charlotte, N.C. News conferences and briefings will take place from this facility.

Tentative Schedule for News Conferences and News Releases
3:30 p.m. (Eastern time), Dec. 31
9 p.m., Dec. 3
After midnight rollover, Jan. 1, as information becomes available
